what are the steps to install twiggi?
« on: March 02, 2003, 04:53:36 PM »
Hello ist readers,
I have installed twiggi-sme-server-1.10.13-0.noarch.rpm on the SME server 5.6 from the myEZserver. (a fresh install, there was no TWIG or earlier twiggi on it.)
I created the msql database accoding the scheme twig.table.mysql by hand
Twiggi shows up in the SME admin page, I get to the config screen. (The IMAP parameter are set for 5.6)
On the mysql side I did grant the the right privileges.

Lookin at http://twiggi/sourceforge.net/install I see much more steps. But this seems to be for the tar version.
Doing the rpm

Q: what are the roughly the steps to install twiggi.
which config files do I have to edit by hand?

Thanks a lot for your help

Hello Jakob,

Whith the installation file you find on the myEZserver you are ready before U now it.

It's a compleet pakace to installon a SME Server, you put the file on your server login on the server's keyboard are whith a remote session whit root acces.

Go to the directorie where you have placed the *.rpm file an install it whith
>rpm -Uvh

It's placed the software on the right place, It's insert a special admin page whit in the SME server admin page's. It's makes a database whit the richt right's and it put alle you SME user all ready in it.

And Twiggi is ready to run on https://servername/twiggi, you must only setup the settigs to say waht kind of IMAPI server you have (on SME 5.5 its diverend then on 5.6). Then you can customist all setting for your defoult users.

And you can use TWIGGI

Good luck.

Johan,

thanks for your help. But I am a bit confused, may be you can help me.

this is wat I did .

then I get the loginscreen for twiggi. It asks me about name and password.
I am getting refused either using my name and the password
or if I am using the preset username in the twiggi config
twiggi_admin
pw: twig!gi

One thing which confused me is the message I got during the rpm installation:

->
[root@kobifix root]# rpm -Uvh twiggi-sme-server-1.10.13-0.noarch.rpm

in the file '/etc/my.cnf on most systems. Occasionally it is
identical with the root password.

there is no password in /etc/my.cnf

It seems I do something fundamentally wrong.
