howto - capture onscreen text?

Sirs

Is there a way to capture onscreen text from some buffer or something so that it can used to more accurately pass results or issues back to contributors? My SME5.6u2 box is distant from the W2kPro-SP2 box I use for emails and both my eyesight and my typing accuracy are *suffering*.

What about the reverse, receiving instructions and command line statements by email? Is there a suitable mechanism available other than eyeballing between distant machines or, dare I say this, scribbling instructions down on bits of paper and retyping the stuff;~/ There's a laser on another box on another floor - even further away and it's not always on (the W2kPro-SP2 workstation I mean). I have a 2nd printer server box currently in transit but is not expected to arrive for a while.

best wishes, Robert

I set PuTTY to use SSH2/Port 22; SME5.6u2 server-manager to use it's private setting for SSH and with the Telnet setting disabled. I'm finding it's most useful indeed - already. *Nobody* should be without their PuTTY;~/
