Topic: Slow connecting via FTP

Hi,

I love me e-smith box(es) but on one of them - whenever I try to ftp it i have to wait about a minute before it brings up the directory structure.

user and pass are preset into cute ftp pro 5 do i just press the little streak of lightning to connect.

the other thing is that it times out after 300 seconds which is really annoying can i get it to wait longer?

The delay is probably due to ident. This has been covered many times, so searching for "ident" should provide lots of help.

I've found this too with certain ftp clients. Try using Globalscape Cute FTP Pro.
