If you are interested in beta releases, then please join the developer mailing list, where beta releases are announced, and design issues are discussed.
Very briefly, the new features in 4.0 compared to 3.1 will be groups, email forwarding and printer support, as well as easier installation and configuration, lots of updated software. The
e-smith system also has a much more modular structure, so it
will be easier for add-on packages to be produced to add new
features, rather than for new features to require changes to
what is already there.
