Topic: no mail download

Hello everybody,

I just did the following:

- renamed the inbox folder in webmail.
- deleted this new folder.

now, when I try to download incoming mail with Outlook express(POP3)
it says:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'xxx.co.uk', Server: 'xxx-server', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR this user has no $HOME/Maildir', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

can anybody help me?

You'll need to ssh into the machine and check that the directories are created properly.  Once logged in cd to /home/e-smith/files/users/username
In that dir you should see a Maildir and a Mail directory.  Permissions on those dir's should be "username:username"  Inside the Maildir directory there should be 3 more; cur, new & tmp as well permissions on those should be "username:username".  Inside the Mail dir you should find any subfolders that have been created by IMP.  It is my understanding that Maildir is equivalent to the "Inbox".
This is how my 5.5u6 is setup, 5.6 may be different.
