Hi Ray,
Thanks for the suggestion... Rhys thread is fascinating both technically : the patience of those writing back : and the interpersonal aspects of this... All this said : getting back to getting my Win 2000 Server and E-Smith talking...
Configuration :
I have a firewall in a box product (I've been using E-Smith 4.1.2 for about 2 years - but it eventually got hacked : and I was 2000km's away : cost me $1000 with Telstra : so I had to get a mate to buy and install firewall in a box - which I've stuck with for extra security)....
Firewall in a box: 192.168.3.20 : DHCP switched off on this
NT 2000 Server : 192.168.3.75 : In standalone mode : workgroup not domain. This connect to E-Smith via DHCP
E-Smith : Server only : NOT domain server but has web and internet working correctly... just can't connect to the ibays from the Win 2000 Server....  Can connect from the Win 98 box (which is my dads business machine - so he's not keen for me to keep using it over and over again for testing)...
Still going through this : a few things to start with...

Note that the IP Routing is enabled... I don't know why - whether this is a problem - or how to switch it off :s
(Btw : keep in mind I'm doing all this remotely, 2000km's away, so it's hard to do things requiring disabling the network which I use to connect by)....

OK : I'm quite stumped... having been through all the Rhys posts : and these making sense : I still don't get why Win 2000 can't communicate with E-Smith on the ibays (it can communicate most other ways)....
Thanks in advance : any suggestions gratefully accepted....
