Topic: Securing SME 5.6

I would like to enable SSL auth for pop3 and smtp on SME5.6 as I would like to make the server public without opening it to any spammers etc.
I have installed the following rpms:
cvm-0.16-1.i386.rpm
e-smith-unix-0.0.3-4dc.noarch.rpm
e-smith-pop3s-sme5.6-0.0.3-1dc.noarch.rpm
e-smith-ssmtp-sme5.6-0.0.3-1dc.noarch.rpm
e-smith-securemail-0.0.3-3dc.noarch.rpm
When I reboot, cvm-unix comes up as disabled??
The "secure e-mail settings" option is now available but I cannot enable any of the options on it.

Any ideas??

Did you follow the instructions and run:
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade

I did try it that way - I get an error message
"/sbin/e-smith/signal-event : read manifest failed : success"

Ok I'm a n00b - I have finally got the rpm's installed properly however I still cannot connect via ssl through an email client?? I have changed the ports to 465 and 995 respectively but still no luck. When I tell the client to use ssl it says that the connection to the server has failed. If i leave the ports as defaults then it says that the server does not support ssl.

I installed all packages without any problems, no errors messages, all is well setup but i got same problem as Billy, i get an error message from outlook xp which say server didn't reply... (no ssl)

I have done this install using the cvm-0.17-1.i386.rpm along with the correct other rpm files. Could not find the 0.11 or 0.16 versions of CVM.
I have everything working from inside the network except authencation. If I dont authencate but still use SSL ports it is all good. If I force outgoing SMTP to authenticate then I get a constant loop of asking for username and password. Now I know they are correct and I even tried using root and admin but none work. I get the same thing when trying from outside the network, accross the internet.
Anyone got any ideas on this???????
