Email Users and Virtual Domains

In an earlier topic a work-around was given so as to enable virtual user email to be linked to virtual domains, does this work for SME 5.6?
Is the ability to add virtual users to virtual domains easily via the web manager a thing of the future?
Is there an alternative to this work-around for with multiple virtual domains and many virtual users it seems open to error when configuring and adding email users for their domains this way?

There is no such thing as "their domains".  A user on the server is a user for ALL of that servers virtual domains.

Example for my server:  user@brummell.net, user@lewcarlaw-autobody.com, user@pounder.kicks-ass.net and user@sentrycommunications.ca all go to an account (or pseudonym) called user.

Now if you mean having user@domain.com and user@domain2.com going to two seperate accounts, I doubt that will ever happen, that's not how Mitel intends for the distribution to be used so it's unlikely they will add it.  Now, if a developer wants to make an add-on, that's a different story...

Hi Mike,
I'm not sure if this will help but take a look here:

Many thanks for the suggestions.
Found the reference to the site http://dungog.net/sme
very good and highly recommend it and especially the rpm on this site to extend the Server Manager so as to  install rpms via the web interface - excellent! The virtual domain extension was obtained and now have the ability to use both email and www DNS forwarding easily on virtual domains. Many problems solved!!
