I've got the UNIX client for Veritas Backup Exec installed and it's running fine. The SME server is being published to the local Backup Exec server and shares are available for backup. The problem is that only users EXCEPT root seem to be getting access to the SME for backup.
Essentially, all the iBays are available for backup, including a user's home directory. So, admin gets their home directory and all the iBays available and joe_bloggs gets their home directory and all the iBays. However, if I try and connect to the SME box as root, it fails.
There's no point having the UNIX client installed if all I can do is backup the iBays and a sole user account. I need to be able to backup the ENTIRE server. What interests me is that this seems remarkably similar to the problem I have with ftp in that I cannot log into the SME box via ftp as root.
Any clues what to do?
