sme 5.6 and dyndns
« on: June 07, 2003, 01:09:41 AM »
I just upgraded my server to 5.6 and when trying to connect from the internet it does not show up. I have went through to find out why i cant ping the server or anything and i noticed dyndns is not listed in the consol anymore. did 5.6 do away with dyndns being built in? looking at the docs i could find no mention of it. am I missing the section? my setup is

modem-> linksys AP -> smeserver port 1/wireless to other computers.

I have the server set as static on the router and also in the dmz so everything should be open to it. i can reach it behind the router meaning on this computer i can access the server but I cannot access it though outside the network 192.168 say from aol or yahoo

ok i found it. I think I have to put the server first and then the ap after. I set it to static since it appears my server has changed ip addresses several times. but i think i cured that.. thx for anyone who was going to answer. and no there is nothing in the docs about this phillip ramirez wrote:

Well I found my problem. in the linksys router even though i was set for dmz it would not allow it to connect from the outside. after i set upnp ports it works fine now.
