ok this is a pretty lame question....
does sme have a firewall? is it enabled? or do i have to enable it some how?

i take it i have to have service link activated, how do i go about doing that
what are the costs involved
i am in South Africa
can any1 help me?

If you setup your server as "Server and Gateway" or "Private and Gateway", then the firewall code will be active.

You only need Service Link if you want the extra features SME has to offer.  If you've installed the dev (or SL enabled for that matter) version as a Server & Gateway (private or public) then it will be running the firewall code.  If you install it as server only then I believe this does not turn firewalling on.
