Topic: changing from chap to pap

Hi ,
My isp changed from reselling a chap based service to a pap based service. He didn't bother to tell anyone - just did it one night. (But you can buy a cd from the shop .....)

My 5.6 installation doesnt seem to want to get over this sudden change, and keeps reporting chap authentication failed. I have changed the login settings, and my windoze laptop with the same settings connects fine.

Q1. What mechanism is their for me to trigger to get e-smith to reconsider and start using pap?
Q2 If the answer to 1 is none - do I simply empty my chap-secrets file and try to connect again?

Any clues valued greatly - teenagers are unable to get on chat lines - my life is worthless. :-}
