Hi

Hope you guys can help.

I was wondering if the SME5.6 server can handle email from one POP3 account and be able to to forward the email to different users depending on the recipent specified in the TO: part of the header.

Would I need to hand code filter rules on the server? If so is there a HOW TO I can study?
Would it require an installation of a different email solution?

Please can someone help.

Cheers

Thats how I pick up all mail (from Demon) 4 or 5 different user names.

Define "forward the email to different user names" do  you mean:

a) Accept mail for different users sharing the one POP3 mailbox and deliver the message to their inbox on SME.

b) Accept mail for different users sharing the one POP3 mailbox and then resend the mail to a different internal or external email address.

c) Accept mail for different users sharing the one POP3 mailbox and do something else with it.

a) Yes, but the exact process depends a bit on what is in the headers. How ever it will sort on the envelope rather than the To: line.

b) Yes. One way is to create the users on the SME box and then setup those users mailboxes with  the resend to the other address. Fine for one or two but a bit unmagageable after that.

c) Depends...  B-)
