Server identified as Mitel Networks SME Server

Hi, I would like to change the comment that is viewed when the server is seen on the network.

Currently when listing all the PC on the network the server has a comment of "Mitel Networks SME Server"

Can anyone advise how this can be changed?

Cheers

I searched the phorum and found some info refering to changing the actual name of the server in the cofiguration file in /home/e-smith but I couldn't find anything regarding the actual comment field which identifies the named server as a Mitel Networks SME Server.

The bit that I need to change is the comment field.

I want to change the comment from Mitel Networks SME Server to something else, such that on the network you will not know that it is a Mitel SME Networks Server. :~)

Mind you, there was a lot of entries reported back when I searched for Mitel Networks SME Server :~) and as my wife always tells me, I need to get my girl eyes in otherwise I can be looking straight at it and still not see it. So I guess there's another reason why guys get married.

It is there if you look hard enough, but....

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop smb ServerString 'whatever you want...'

PS. all of you configuration items are in the /home/e-smith/configuration file. These are set by the various scripts etc. used in sme or can be manipulated (at your own peril) via the /sbin/e-smith/db command (try --help for info).

Oops,

should tell you how to activate these as well...

There is probably an event that does this, but here is how I do it

/etc/e-smith/events/actions/conf-samba
/etc/init.d/smb restart
