We have a customer running SME-Server. We have recently installed a central backup solution based on HP Open View Storage Data Protector.
This solution is used to backup all servers at customer site (Unix, Novell, MS, Linux..)
The customer is running a mail-server on the SME-server and they want to secure some data.
We have not been able to install the backup agent on SME-Server, or we actually did, but when the server was rebooted the backup agent stopped working.
The backup agent is using telnet on port 5555 to talk to the backup manager, I can provide more information about the behaviour of the backup agent, but first I would like to know if there is any big issues doing backup in this way?
