I have a 5.5 system that I wanted to add a second drive as a mirror. Is it possible?

Hi Charlie,

To use SME's s/w RAID, I'd recommend you backup, resetup with RAID then restore.

If you can afford to move to hardware RAID, then there are RAID subsystems out there that are OS independent that will do the job without needing you to reformat / etc. I sell one called the Accusys ACS 7500.

Won't you still need to reformat, etc? Or are you saying that I can take a single disk install, move the hard drive to the RAID controller, and it will boot up as part of a raid pair? Neat, if so.

Nope.

Yes. (Note : the ACS 7500 is a subsystem - not just a controller)

Isn't it ? :)
