ISP's setup

Is there a different setup for different ISP?  I could connect to Sprint Canada with just entering their dial-up number, my user name and password, but with another ISP after I changed the above setup it failed.  In addition to the above setup I also entered DNS1 and DNS2 and still I could not connect, anyone suggestions would be appreciated?

Hi Mohsen,

Does the second ISP support PAP authentication?

Most ISPs do and our product only supports ISPs that do out of the box.

Let us know if this isn't it.  Good luck!

Hi Kim:

Thank you for your response to my question.  I have contacted my ISP and I asked if they support PAP authentication, the answer was yes but he gave me another dial-up number to try and it did work and he said could be my modem firmware.  He suggested upgrading and try again.

My e-smith server and gateway is working perfectly now.

Can we change the time for disconnection? e-smith server and gateway disconnects about 10-15 Min. After last activity and I found it long specially for small businesses like me that we have a limited phone lines.

Thanks
Mohsen

Count yourself lucky.  My system disconnects after about 20 seconds of inactivity.  I have been reading up on diald configuration to try to solve the problem before asking about it here.
