Topic: Share CD-ROM drive

Hi all,

is there a simple way for sharing the built-in cd-rom drive of the e-smith box?
Of course, I could tweak all services by hand - but that wouldn't really be close
to e-smith's concept, would it?
Wouldn't it be possible to employ the automounter and add a share for the cd-rom
drive, so that everytime it is accessed it gets mounted and as soon as someone
is pressing the eject button of the drive, the cd gets ejected?

Is there a solution for this already?
Does anyone else think such a solution would make sense?

That's a contrib package which I plan to put together when I have time. It's not quite as easy as you suggest, as the drive will stay mounted while anyone is accessing it - e.g. while any client machine has that share mapped. And the eject button is locked out while the drive is mounted.

Perhaps you'd like to put together an add-on RPM rather than wait for me to do it?
