Topic: Installation problems 5.6 no admin screen

Hi

I tried upgrading my SME 5.5 to 5.6 soem weeks ago.  It seemed to work but the version number didn't change in the server-manager screen.

So.. I decided to reinstall on a new HD.  All went well, apparently, and eventually it rebooted and started up.  However, instead of bringing up the admin configuration and setup text screen, it went strainght to a login prompt (localhost   Login: ).  Naturally I couldn't login as I had not yet set up the system and I have no idea what the Admin or Root password might be.

Has anyone had this happen?  Any work-around?  (I did try the boot from CD twice with the same result!)

Perplexing (and totally frustrating as well!)

The install didn't complete properly for some reason. Search back (all dates) for the magic incantations required to login with the default password and complete the final stages of the installation.
