Has anyone found an inexpensive serial ATA controller that can be used on SME 5x or 6x?
3Ware offers source code that could be compiled for SME, but the cheapest 3ware controller is $350 or higher. Both Promise and LSI-Logic controllers are well under $100, but they both offer only binary drivers, and none of the Linux drivers match any vers of SME's kernel..
The WD360 SATA drive absolutely screams attached to any of these controllers running Winx, and carries a 5 year warranty. This kind of drive is going to be a good low-cost replacement for SCSI if we can find out how to tap into it.
