Mats,

This controller is not listed as compatible with Linux. However, the following is from
www.compaq.com

>Q9: What servers and OS's will be supported by the SA-431?
>A9: The SA-431 targets the entry-level ProLiant and workgroup server market >place. The supported operating systems include: Microsoft NT 3.51*, 4.0; Windows >2000; Novell NetWare 3.2, 4.2, 5; SCI OpenServer 5; SCO UNIX 2X; IBM OS/2*; Solaris for X86*; and Linux**.
>(* OS will not be supported at announcement.)
>(** Drivers available in Smart Start 4.60 or on www.compaq.com in Q1, 2000.)

I could find nothing more.

Ok....
Do you know how to make a raid1 on e-smith ?
I have 2 disks at 9.1 GB.(+ one more for backup, 3 together)
I have install e-smith 4.0 on one disk and it working fine.

If you use the smart start CD. you can set your hard drives up as RAID 1. Then just install E-Smith. With hardware RAID, the OS need never know if there is one drive or 10 drives.
Thas the way it for NT and Novell so I cant see why Linux would be any different.

let me know how it works out.
