Topic: SME 5.6 PPTP help

hi,
  i know this sound too noob but im trying so much to figure out how to make my PPTP work. im using a win98se then im connecting to my sme5.6 box (and even to my bro's and friends' sme5.6 boxes) but i cant get the right settings right even up to now.

ive set 1 connection for pptp in their boxes thorugh server-manager. and i noticed that it can only connect to the specified hostname/ip when the settings are only set to "Logon to network" and "NetBEUI". if other selections are checked rather than that, it wont connect. but the thing is, after it connect, it disconnect right away.

this is the only ready-made feature of sme5.6 that i dont know how to use. its very useful for me coz im constantly on the go. i desperately need your help.

Sounds like you need to update the Win DUN to v1.4 128 bit encryption
Download from MS and instal dun14-SE.exe (for Windows 98 SE), different for other versions.

well, I have the DUN update and I'm using windows 98se, I can log thru pptp to SME server 5.6 u5 (or u4??), and it works great, but after some use, I get disconnected, it is a random time, It could be not a time out because I'm using the vpn link (uploading, downloading, using netmeeting desktop control, even browsing the internet, messenger, etc..) but afer a while it disconnected me!!

Is there a setting that I had not seen?? I actualy add the multilink option (and that make my vpn works, and the right setting on my vpn client) and the pptp update.

If someone can bring me the light!! i'll really appreciated your help!!
