Hi,
I needed to copy all my imap user folders and messages from a 4.1.2 to a 6b3 server. I configured and ran ImapCopy and most of the messages got copied nicely, but there were two problems. I seek someone who is familiar with ImapCopy and can comment on the issues below. I have already emailed ImapCopy's author, but I don't know whether he responds on such support requests.
1st issue. During the message copying process, I frequently saw these messages:
"Error saving message #ID, continuing copy, server returned "bad invalid system flag \recent"
I suspect this is due to messages having a flag 'recent' on the old server which the new one does not support? I just want the files copied whatsoever, can messages with this 'problem' flag set just be processed and copied without any flag (or with the 'unread' flag), or what are my options? I need to have all messages transferred, their flags does not mean a fortune. Any suggestion what to put in the cfg file in this situation?
2nd issue: Allt the mail accounts (folders) on the new server have three folders: Inbox, junkmail and sent-mail. These three are mailroot folders. However the old server has only the INBOX and a folder called Mail as root folders. The sent-mail folder is a subfolder in the Mail folder. Can I configure ImapCopy to copy the oldserver's /Mail/sent-mail folder to the new server's mailroot (so it becomes /sent-mail? How do I put this into the cfg file?
Also what happens if I do the ImapCopy once again? Does it ignore duplicate messages (messages already copied don't get recopied)? if the above issues are solveable in the cfg file, will it then rerun the copying process and copy all the non-copied "/recent flag" messages and recopy all the sent-mail folders into the the new server's mailroot? Than I can manually delete the /Mail/sent-mail folders which have already been copied to the new server.
Does it exist an option with ImapCopy to erase all mailfolders in the target server?
Thanks in advance for any help / infos on these issues
best regards
