Topic: Tape Backup Advice

Hi All,

I was hoping someone on here could bestow some words of wisdom on the following :-

I have a client running RH8.0 (Psyche Kernel 2.4.18-14)
on an IBM server . They recently puchased an IBM Badged
Excabyte VXA-2 SCSI Tape drive.

Could anyone recommend software that will do nightly unattended
backups of the users data sets ?

I have had a quick look at Amanda / Mondo - then saw Arkeia
which looks good - the light version is a free download.

From what I understand there will be a deamon running on the server which can be controlled from one of the client Wintops.

If anyone has and experience with Arkei Light on RH it woudl be great to hear from you.
