Which customisations are you running on V6?
« on: November 23, 2003, 02:35:35 PM »
I'm slowly going through a new box running Version 6 with the latest updates, trying the various add-ons.
Can anyone contribute their knowledge of any of the available rpm's that they are running on Version 6?
It would be much appreciated.  I'll add this list to a web page if no-one else has already done it, but I've not found anything similar in my googling around the net.

So what are you running on your e-smith V6 box?

Hi Andy,
I have got Darrell May's backup2workstation installed and it seems to be working, user-manager seems to have some problems though.

Currently in stalled (6.0beta3 w/all updates). All of these I have installed and I'm sure there are a few I'm forgetting. My server is for my own personal use at home so there no real problem if I mess it up. It only takes 30 minutes to reinstall on another drive and transfer my important data from the install I messed up. If your using your server in a production capacity I'd suggest much great caution and I cannot say installing these will work for you.

Hi,
i am running 6.03b in the office for quite a time now. It is stable (and old enough, i guess ;-)

I got rid of some old contribs and addons. I am not using spam assassin any more. So this is what i like an need in an office environment:

assp-Spamproxy as provided by Darrel May (very useful)

backup2ws rpm by same contributor - check the restores with this one. It almost drove me nuts. In the desaster recovery you have to put in "home,home\files ...." so double the home and CHECK it!

The "normal stuff" e.g
- diskquota
- update - system
- system-monitor
- webcache addon
- sarg
- awstats
- advanced-workgroup (good for samba administration)

All runs without probs.
