Ok this one is just driving me NUTS. I have registered abcde.com
address(fake). I'm assuming everything is correct at
www.granitecanyon.com but I have no way to test it. At one point this weekend if I ping'ed abcde.com
it would correctly ping my machine. Now if I try it, it just keeps timing
out without finding my system. Yes I setup that address as my primary host address. I also have setup a yi.org address and all works well there. Is there some 'cache'
file I can take a look or something I can delete and have it once again
force a check out in the DNS world? (btw. I've tried to ping my domain name from work and and friend of mine from his home and no luck. Now if
I try again the yi.org address everything is fine.)
The other problem is my eth0(internal) card keeps going down for some
reason. If I do "ifconfig eth0 down" and then "ifconfig eth0 up" all is well once again. I'm tempted to setup something in cron to recycle this card every so often to
avoid having to do it my self. Anyone here of such a problem? I'm using
TULIP drivers on both cards.
Can I enable full access to telnet? So that a user(mainly me) could access to the commandline without having to login as root?
