Port 80 & 10500 to redirect to a Local PC via a sub domain
« on: January 16, 2004, 05:35:09 PM »
Running SME5.6 it is hosting the Primary domain and 2 Virtual domains. I need to gain acces to another PC on a the local network externaly. The local pc uses port 80 to browse the directory using HTTP  and then you select a java applet that runs port 10500

I have tried this:

I created a sub domain on my  ISP's A records (test.mydomain.com) and pointed it to my SME servers external IP address. I then created that sub domain name within SME

eg. exsiting domain  -www.mydomain.com added another one called test.mydomain.com

I then went into Hostnames and change it from self to local and entered the IP address of the local PC I needed access to. --- guess what ,  it didn't work ----

If you browse to the subdomain - test.mydomain.com - it goes to the primary Ibay content if you browse to www.mydomain.com it takes you to the Ibay that it was setup to point to in virtual domains.

What am I doing wrong?????? Is this not the way its done????

Thanks
Paul
