I have a 56k modem connection. I used CoffeCup Free FTP on an eMachine
to dowload the "iso.gz" file.. To check the file I downloaded Shorten (a
program for mp3 files) which contains md5sum. The md5sum still did not
match
after several download attempts. I then downloaded the file on a Mac using
Anarchie which has a resume feature. The connection was broken a few times
during the dowlload. However, using Shorten on the Mac, the md5sum
matched. In the meantime, a friend dowloaded the e-smith.iso.gz file using
ISDN on an NT box and wrote the file to a CD. The md5sum matched e-smith's
published info. To save time, I used my friends CD to continue rather than
set up an ethernet link between the Mac and the PC.
