Hi Sasha,
As I previously replied in a personal email, we do not provide free support. We do provide
unlimited technical support to our subscription customers as well as providing the user-supported
bulletin boards such as this one.
e-smith staff post frequently to these boards, but we don't make any guarantee to answer
and or all of the questions in these forums. We really value the commitment which other members
of the e-smith developer community are making to answering questions and contributing changes.
We do have a mechanism for paid support and we have a product to develop. We could easily
spend all day answering free support questions, but that would not be in our best interest or the
best interests of the e-smith community as we would never get new releases out.
On a technical note, you don't need to start a new thread to revive discussion on an unanswered
question. Use the "search" feature to find the old thread and then post a follow-up. The thread will
come back to the active list.
Anyway, on to the question.

This is true in various places, including Australia. True dial-on-demand is
an expensive option for these regions. Other telcos (e.g. North America) have
free local calls, so dial-on-demand is a perfect fit. I would like to see a module
which allows the dial-out regime to be tuned based on delay/flagfall/per-minute charge
to allow you to tune this for your telco regime.

Naturally. Have a look at /etc/diald.filter for the current regime and modify to suit. I'm sure people
in locations such as South Africa and Australia would be interested in your modifications, so
please make them available.
Thanks,
Gordon
