As far as I know, nobody has developed that feature for the mail transport agent used in e-smith.

If you can be a little patient, I'm working on PPTP VPN support, so that your roaming users can use win9x builtin PPTP VPN client, which works analogous to dialing in over an encrypted Internet connection, rather than dialing in over the phone system. Keep looking here for an announcement of an experimental version.
