We are going to get a 2mbit/s line for our student dormitory and we have decided to use IP-Masquerading (an e-smith server) to link the internal network to the internet.
Because we will be granted only a limited amount of traffic per month, i'm looking for a solution to limit the maximum bandwidth available to each masqed machine.
Is this possible? And, if yes, can the limit be controlled separately for each pc? (If somebody causes too much traffic his bandwidth could be reduced, still allowing him to access the internet but stopping him from downloading gigs of mp3s)
Any Ideas?
