Which IMAP mail client works best with E-smith??? Outlook, Pegasus etc??

Hi Brandon,

I have tried to use IMAP in combination with Outlook 2000 but unfortunately there is something strange:
In Outlook the 'received' time stamp changes, apparently after opening the mail.
When I came across that and asked on the developer's mailing list, other users apparently had seen the same problem.
As much as I would prefer IMAP rather than using POP3, I am still using POP3 due to this problem and I haven't figured out whether it's a server related problem or actually an Outlook problem?

Update:

I downloaded & installed Eudora 4.3 - seems to working ok.

i believe the problem is a known bug in outlook2000
i have outlook express here setup for imap email and it works fine
tho i do get one strange error first mail of the day
it is "an unknown error has occurred" which is fixed by sending yourself a mail

thanks for your feedback on that.
I did some more testing with Outlook Express this time and don't see that strange change in the received date with Outlook Express than I find with Outlook 2000!

So I  believe now that it must be an Outlook 2000 problem but I can't find any further hint on that on the net? I would expect to find that this problem is already discussed somewhere.

I also was able to get Outlook express working fine - not sure about the sychronisation stuff????

Problem though is that Outlook 2000 requires Outlook express to run in internet e-mail mode - i.e. Outlook 2000 is 'sitting' on top of Outlook express??? So don't really understand why it wouldn't work?
