Topic: IMAP configuration

Hi all,

I've noticed that mail folders created via IMAP are created right within my home directory on e-smith.  

For example:

/home/e-smith/files/users/user now contains:
Drafts
Maildir (inbox)
Outbox
Trash
(more mail folders)
(normal directories)

This is a very messy situation with the possibility of naming collisions between mail folders & normal folders.  Does anyone know how to change the qmail(?)/imapd(?) configuration so that all my mail would end up in one directory?  This way my home directory would look like this:

/home/e-smith/files/users/user
mail/Drafts
mail/Maildir
mail/Outbox
mail/Trash
mail/(more mail folders)
(normal directories)

Which would much more manageable.

Fixing this is on our TODO list. We will move all mail folders into a subdirectory, and set up imapd to use that subdirectory by default. The migration will be automatic, in a future update. If you can live with it for now, the problem is only temporary. OTOH, if you make custom changes now, the automatic migration may not work in the future.

BTW, you won't have a problem with clashes with normal folders if you have applied the 4.0.1 update. All normal folders should be subdirectories of the "home" folder, whether created through ftp, samba or Apple file sharing.
