I've had the same experience. Tried to find a solution for two days, then decided that buying another Mobo was the best solution by far. Swap memory/processor/etc. and up and running in no-time. The P5VDC-MX is now punished by having to run XP. :twisted:

I had similar issues on a modern Fujitsu P4 system, but thre were settings in the BIOS to add legacy features etc and present itself as IDE, which cured the problem for me. Can look into those features in greater detail if deemed appropriate for your situation.
