stupid issue that's driving me nuts

I use SME boxes as NAS / disaster servers for the various production plants I support.

anyway I had one box ready for my tampa plant but needed to instead send it to my california Pa plant.  so I changed the IP address, root password and all the essentials.  it works just fine.  However I am having a minor issue that's making me crazy.  I changed the netbios server description with the advanced workgroup contrib.  when I navigate to the sme IP via UNC I get the correct description in the window title bar: "CAL disaster server." but when I click on a share and open it it shows the wrong description and reads: "jobs on tampa disaster server"

this doesn't affect functionality, but it's making me insane.  what am I missing?  I even deleted and recreated the ibay and I'm getting the same thing"

help?

update:

it only does it when I navigate to the SME server via IP address.

when I navigate via server name ie \\cal-linux\jobs

the description is correct.

it gets screwed up when I navigate to it via IP only.

I've cleared the DNS cache, browser cache, netbios Cache etc.  still same silly but annoyingly irritating issue.

can anyone even reproduce the problem?

A couple of more suggestions

or even install the squid cache manager contrib and flush your servers cache.

THANK YOU RAY !!!!  :-D

It was the registry key mentioned in your first link.  I cleared that and it came up correctly.

a toast to you! :pint:

and BTW.  SME Server with some extra contribs absolutely rocks for my purposes.  I reccomend this distro every chance I get!
