I used the command on my system to find out the expiration dates of the avira license key file.
/usr/bin/avlinfo
I found the link to download a new license key file with a newer expiration date.
From this webpage, found the below link to a new hbedy.key file
http://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=150889
link to new hbedy.key from the above webpage
http://personal.avira-update.com/package/peclkey/win32/int/hbedv.key
My old key expired June 30, 2013.
The newer key show expiring June 30, 2014
After a reboot, the Avira program ran with the new key, as opposed to not loading before.
