I'm still looking for a groupware application for e-smith.
After my first question I got a lot of replies, but all the replies pointed to a php groupware produkt. The problem is that these products are not as quick and easy to use as a normal windows program like outlook.

So, does somebody know a groupware product dat works like Microsoft Echange, or Lotus notues, that can run on a e-smith (Linux) server.
The aplication (like outlook) msut run under Windows.

The mean features I'm looking for is a calender option, with the abbilaty to arrange meating betwean more than one person. Also a project manage feature would be welcome.

I hope somebody can help...

Lotus Notes can run just fine on Linux (& therefore E-Smith with a little tweaking)
There are obviously licensing implications...

Another contender would be HP's OpenMail, which can use Outlook as a client...

All right, I've downloaded everything I'll (I think) to install Openmail, but I get the following message:

[root@e-smith LINUX]# rpm -i openmail-core-7.0.0-2.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
        sendmail >= 8.9.3-10 is needed by openmail-core-7.0.0-2
        libstdc++.so.2.8 is needed by openmail-core-7.0.0-2
        libX11.so.6 is needed by openmail-core-7.0.0-2

Somebody how can help?

e-smith uses qmail as the mail daemon not sendmail. I have not the knowledge if you ever get this problem solve to use hp openmail on an e-smith server.

That may a problem of compatibility form RedHat 6.x to 7.x. E-Smith is based on RedHat 7 and as I know HP Open Mail is (Im sure for Vers. 6) is released for RedHat 6.x systems!

That indicates that there is an application who uses XWindow. X is NOT installed on tht E-Smith Server.

I downloaded the hp openmail 6.0  package but never found time to install. And I would not install it on an E-Smith Server, better try to install it on a plain RedHat system.
