Topic: Abnormal Shutdown

I am not a Linux power user, so I'm stuck!  Every time my server and gateway shuts down abnormally (e.g., a power failure), it never reboots.  It runs a check on the hard drive and comes up with file errors, and then instructs to run fsck MANUALLY.  What should I do at this point, and how can I get the system back up?  I've had to reinstall the software 4 times!

well the linux actually will automatically check this and fixed it. but here is how i did fixed my box.


  e2fsck -f /dev/hda6

by the way after the systems shows the error type in your admin password and will prompt you to the root and when you run the e2fsck just press enter or type a yes...
