1st you need to read this:

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/remote-mgr-access-howto.html

The theory applies to the server manager and remote access to the user password change page.

You do not need to do this if the users are all on the internal lan side of the SME.  If they are external, like mine, you must open this up.

the internal address is https://servername/user-password

or external https://www.mydomain.com/user-password

the https://www.zzzzzzz.com/user-password only works from the internal network, i remember once seeing a posting that talked about changing a line in the templates which added a change password link to the webmail page then you need to download a file/script ?

Did you read the link on my 1st post Simon?  You need to allow access from certain networks to access the user-password page.
Just incase you missed the line from the link I provided earlier:

"The ValidFrom property affects remote access to both the server manager and also the password panel where users can change their password."

Nope, but will follow the thread.  That sounds much easier.
