Forwarding mail for Virtual Domain to internal host
« on: August 01, 2002, 11:47:30 PM »
Hi there,

Does anyone know how to forward all e-mail for a certain virtual domain do another internal host (while all normal e-mail stays at the sme server)? I need to get this working in 5.5.

TIA,
Joost

I used a procmail rule on the admin user.

this will mostly work unless user1@maindomain exists as well as user1@virtual
then mail goes to the maindomain user1

my vdomain rpm alters the mx record so you forward mail for the virtual domain to another IP, this may work for your case

I've got a virtual host (domain.com) that i use for my intranet. So, email sent to  lolo@domain.com goes to user lolo. If the user doesn't exist it goes to admin user.

domain.com exist on the internet. It is own by me and hosted on an other computer on the internet. I want email for unknow user foward to the internet.

Is it possible ?

ps: excuse my poor english as i am fench spoken.

I've been checking this out myself, and stumbled across a file called smtproutes. When I specify a delegate mail host in the server manager, this gets filled up with domain names and IP addresses, so I guess that it should be enough to put my virutal domain in that list with the associated internal IP, right???

I've paid for and downloaded your rpm, and it doesn't work on e-smith 5.5 any hints?
