tindydns in SME 6.0b3

Hi!

I just installed a fresh SME 6.0b3 and I have severe troubles with the DNS in my network. SME will resolve any outside (real world) ip-address, so surfing the internet works.

For my local projects however I created a couple of ibays and pointed internal domains to them. They all look like this: .local, e.g. "mysql.local" for my phpmyadmin ibay.

E-Smith 5.0's DNS Server would resolve those internal domain automatically as soon as the domain was created in the server manager.

SME's DNS Server (which seems to be TinyDNS) however does not resolve those internal domains. I spent some time in the config files and found out the the domains created in the server manger should also appear in tinydns' config files, but the server manager does not "expand-template" the corresponding file, which is /var/service/tinydns/root/data

After calling it manually, the data file will contain entries for the .local domains created in the server-manager, but SME will still not resolve the domains.

I'm a bit frustrated now, because I have no idea where to continue...

Thanks for your help,
Matthias

Gee Dan thanks for the help why would you even bother touching the keyboard

Have had some of my own problems with version 5.5 with dns resolutions sometimes they work sometimes they dont. Ended up building a seperate dns from Mandrake and now there are no dns problems
