Finally got this thing working both proxypass and
portforwarding contribs however these are some issues that I
have observed.
1. It is almost impossible to use Port-Forwarding to forward
port 80,
E-Smith's Apache always responds to port-80 requests. If you
need this, use Proxypass. And If you try to stop Apache
service, you will not have server-manager, so...
2. If you plan to use Proxypass to forward your main domain's
web to a second machine (i.e. IIS) you should install E-Smith
using a dummy domain like
fw.intranet.lan and then create your main domain as an alias.
Why? E-Smith's Apache "always" try to respond to requests
made for the main domain, no matter your Proxy-Pass settings.
3. To have your email traffic forwarded to a second server (e.g. Domino,
Exchange, or another Linux-Box) the easiest way is using the Mail Server
delegation included in E-Smith out-of-the-box under the Email Retrieval menu.
