Only Proxy-Access to Internet?
« on: November 19, 2003, 01:59:58 PM »
HI folks,

my 6.03b is acting strange after a reboot:

Users an WS can only reach outside internet via proxy:3128 (no ping and no connect from ws to outside destinations)!

No direct access possible - annoying. And yes: The E-Smith box IP is default gateway and up and running. And of course internet access at the server checks o.k. - where and what do i have to look at?

So folks:

One day waiting - one reboot and old e-smith did it again!

We will never get to know.....

R ur workstations set up to "Automatically Detect" Network settings??

Or are they actually set to Proxy......

Otherwise you can try and install the Proxy Authentication and just have 'Authorization" set to no.

Then you can go through the proxy but will be roughly a direct connection anyway......unless you've got sites blocked etc....with ACLS.
