I am using Fetchmail to retrieve mails from various pop accounts to my SME box.

I requested a delivery report when the mail was delivered from an external account and I got the following.

Reporting-MTA: dns; localhost

Final-Recipient: rfc822; user@localhost
Last-Attempt-Date: Tue, 09 Mar 2004 14:00:05 +0000 (GMT)
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: 553 Sorry, that is an invalid e-mail address

The eMail address is valid and I do not get this notification if i request delivery reports from other locations.

I think this started to happen when i installed the domainmail contrib and assigned some of the users to the domains they were using rather than all. Although this is happning for all the users.

Any Ideas anyone?

Just on a follow up to the last post
the package installed is

e-smith-domain_mail_user-0.4-1

Which I just uninstalled until I can find a fix

Also is the mail which was sent qurantined anywhere?!
can I get to it somehow and reinject it to be sent to the right mailbox? As I dont want to Lose the Mail which was sent during this period

another thing to add to this

When I look through the SME Interface at the queue and I try to delete bounce msgs from remote-queue I get

Qmail isn't running... no need to stop it.
Qmail wasn't running when qmHandle was started, so it won't be restarted

The Maillog shows the following

also the user-manager has appeared to stop working. I get an Unauthorised Access. From server-manager  I can see the user-panel menu and modify it, just not access it via https://sme/user-manager, somehow i think this is related as everything was working fine up until yesterday.

any help/pointers much appreciated..as im pulling my hair out here

Hi,
I was having exactly the same error and logs using fetchmail for SME 6.0.1-1 and the domain-email contrib.
I have removed the domain-email contrib and now everything is working fine.
