Hi all

Need a little help here.

I have SME 6.01.01 custom up and running the web sever, however I'm having some problem with ftp server.

Local access is working via IP and host name.

External access is not via easydns which is setup as

ftp.domain-name.net IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Should I have to spec the ftp port on easydns ie.

ftp.domain-name.net IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21

I also tried ftp.xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx that failed also.

I get this to work then the mail server then I'll be a happy camper.

Then I can help server the iso's for sme.

Thanks all
Have a good day.

you shouldnt need to specify a port on easydns.

MZAZ

Local access is working via IP and host name.

External access is not working via IP or host name.

From what I can tell easydns is routing it to sme server but sme doesn't look like it's setup right.

Modify proFTPd configuration in iBays

Information bay name Primary
Group   AdminEveryone

User access via file sharing or user ftp
Write = group, Read = everyone

Public access via web or anonymous ftp
Entire Internet (no password required)

Maximum Anonymous FTP connections = 10
FTP Upload Limit (Kb/s) no=No Limit
FTP Download Limit (Kb/s) no=No Limit
Allow Resume Upload=  no
Allow Resume Download= yes

This currently the setup for testing. :-o

I did place a file in the
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/Primary/files
and the local can get it.

I'm a guest on the forum because I can't change my forum password, still trying to fix that. :-x

Thanks
Richard

Got it working

Let's just say it was a faulty operator.

It helps if you turn access on to the internet.

Thanks for the help.....

Now on to the mail problemo!
