Use the Ftp Root Directory Nominate Panel to modify the directory the user arrives at after ftp'ing in.

My experience:

Fresh install of 6.01-01 with restore from desktop of the user accounts and files. Intalled dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-3.noarch.rpm

> rpm -Uvh dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-3.noarch.rpm

....and had pages upon pages of errors.

Fired up server-manager and there was the nice Dungog.net section and the panel. However, no amount of changes in the panel chrooted the users at all. Everyone still had access back to /home/e-smith/files

So, uninstalled it:

> rpm -e dungog-proftpd-chroot

Then installed the earlier version (which works gloriously well on the 5.6U6 installation):

> rpm -Uvh dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-2.noarch.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
   1:dungog-proftpd-chroot  ########################################### [100%]
[root@SERVER_NAME chroot]#

As you can see, not a single error.

Fired up the server-manager. Down the bottom is a section titled 'Unknown' with 'dungog-proftpchroot' listed. The usual panel is there and upon testing it worked as perfectly as it did with 5.6U6. All users chrooted to where I wanted them.

Bliss.

So, I have to suggest that the new 6.01-01 is NOT compatible with dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-3.noarch.rpm

However, dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-3.noarch.rpm may be compatible with earlier v6.x series releases. (I don't know as I've only just moved to 6.01-01 from 5.6U6).

That may be so, but the most recent release is dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-5.noarch.rpm (Sept 22, 2004) which I just installed on two 6.01-01 servers today with no problems.

Congratulations. You've managed to dig up a post concerning a contrib you were not running and post a comment on a later contrib.

What was your point that couldn't have been made by starting a new thread addressing your success?

Reinhold,

Take a look at the dates the Guest poster made his entires.  They predate our policy change.

BTW, I had to look twice too to make sure. :-)

Hey, sunshine. GET STUFFED!

If you don't have the balls to call it when it needs to be called then why not STFU yourself, eh? Just because you're a spineless wimp who babies the incompetents DOES NOT MEAN I HAVE TO.
