Topic: DNS Server ???

hello,

i have on my pc the sme 6.0.1 running and i have the hole time problems i guess it's the problem with the dns providing, because if i send a ping i don't get a answer but if i using the ICQ i get a conneced !!!

i tryed to give in internet explorer a dns - ip from t-online and one time it's worked, but now not more !!!

can somebody give me a advice or help me ???

and the second question is, i had the server about 7 day's running and my file system get full! i checked the folders and find out, that the /var folder is 255MB big and the /var/log 70MB and the /var/www 52MB! this is problematically for my, because i have a 900Mb harddisk !!!

can somebody give me a tip ???

Yeah, perhaps I can.
If you read the Technical Handbook under Documentation->Manuals, you will see that the MINIMUM requirement calls for a 1Gig disk.
In my opinion, don't bother to install SME on a disk like that. If you want it to run smoothly as just a firewall, web- and mail-server (no fileservice, mind you), get a disk at least 6,4 Gigs.

can you tell me something about my first question, why I can connect with the ICQ or AM or check my e-mail's with outlook but no surfing ???
