using sme server behind an existing proxy server

Hello!

I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the ones who carry on this project.  I found this system when it was called E-Smith 4.0, and have recommended it to everyone I know who needed an inexpensive replacement for a NT server.  Those who carry on this project on their "free" time (and I know there is no such thing) are greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to make sme server work as a trasparent proxy behind an existing isa server.  I have no control over the external proxy server, and unable to make ANY changes to the configuration.  My hopes are to introduce a sme server as a gateway box for a certain network segment, so that computers on the segment can connect to the internet with no configuration required other than dhcp.  If anyone can be any help in this matter, thanks in advance.

If I understand what you are asking, would you not just set up the server with two Ethernet NICs, and configure SME as server & gateway with Ethernet as the external interface?

Assuming the external network uses private IP addresses you'd just need to be careful to choose a different block for SME's local address to avoid conflicts.

Or am I missing something?
