I'm fairly sure that your problem is not related to the server. I would disconnect ALL other devices from the dsl line so that the only device connected to the line is the dsl modem and see how that goes. As you increase the speed and distance from the exchange the service becomes more 'fickle' I'm guessing that you probably have a high speed service (1.5M or 512k) and that you are located close to the maximum allowed distance from the exchange. Ive been checking the ISP logs on log in time...
Sat & Sun was 1 or 2 connections per day: Mon was 40!
It seems something is interferring during office hours only (although that is also when it is busy).
(Im checking to see if anything has been put on the network I dont know about!)
The /var/log/pppoe/current file indicates
