Topic: cd-rom drive

I have quite an unusual wish.

My computer does not read very well from cd-s. but as e-smith box stands in the corner and does not use cd-rom drive i started thinking that could i share somehow e-smith cd-rom drive?

If this is possible plese write it out quite detailed instructions because i am not used to linux.
